Coffee Talk

Coffee Talk is a series I have on my blog of highlights and interesting things I want to write, and discuss about.

The Big Television Debate | Ellen Pompeo, Emma Roberts, Gina Rodriguez and Gabrielle Union

This video was posted November 2018 and this interview is more relevant than ever. These four powerful and strong women talk about issues that are going on behind the scenes.

This is a perfect video to watch in a time where women, and especially women of color are not getting paid equally to men. It is 2019 and this is still an issue. That is shocking to me.

What has been in the news lately is the US Women Soccer. Especially Megan Rapinoe. Rapinoe is captain of the U.S. Soccer team. She is also an activist and she is part of the LGBTQ+ community. What has been in the news lately is the US Women Soccer. One of the major issues that have been circling the news is that the US Women Soccer play more games, and win more games than US Men Soccer but they still get paid less.

This video and interview with these four women talk about race and color and how we all need to be better at speaking up and surrounding ourselves with people of color. We need to learn from them. We need to hear them. We need to be the voice for them. Ellen Pompeo looks at the cast that is filming and the interview and says that there is not enough colored people in this room working. This is the type of movement we need to get people of colors voices heard.

In conclusion, this is a very heart wrenching interview because it opened my eyes. I cam do better, and we can all do better.
